Early Career Scientist Travel Support
 
 

Limited funds will be available through the generosity of IUCr and AsCA to help students and post-docs in attending AsCA'10 by contributing toward travel expenses. The awards will only be paid if the successful applicants present their work in person at the meeting either orally or as a poster.

Please download the Application Form for Early Career Scientist Travel Support. Application for Early Career Scientist Travel Support should be submitted before July 15, 2010 along with the abstract and supporting documents as below.
   
  Note:
 
  1. Early Career Scientist Travel Support will be available to currently-enrolled graduate students or early career researchers who received their higher degree in 2007 or later. Please send the document for your status (a copy of the diploma or a letter of verification from a department chairperson or faculty/research advisor) to Lee Convention / Ms. Diana Park by e-mail (info@asca2010.org) or fax (+82-51-740-5519).
  2. The selected applicants will be awarded up to KRW 1,200,000 toward travel support. The actual amount of support will reflect the distance from the venue.
  3. Early career scientists who apply for travel support may also apply for the AsCA Rising Stars session. If those who are awarded the travel support are selected as a speaker in the AsCA Rising Stars session, they will be further supported by reimbursement of the registration fee at the Registration Desk.
  4. Applications from all regions are welcome. However, preferences will be given to applications from countries other than Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and Korea for the travel support from the AsCA fund.

Early Career Scientists for AsCA Rising Stars Session (MS-16)
 
 

"AsCA Rising Stars" symposium session which was introduced in AsCA¡¯09 meeting will continue in AsCA¡¯10 to give opportunities to young scientists to present their work orally. Six speakers will be selected from the submitted abstracts to participate in this symposium. In addition to abstract submission, a letter must be provided by the young scientist¡¯s supervisor requesting that he/she be considered for this session and confirming their eligibility. The supervisor must then ensure that any young scientist they are recommending comes prepared to give a 15-min talk.

One to three speakers will be selected from each of the meeting's main themes, Structural Biology, Chemical Crystallography and Material Science, and Specialized Techniques.
